As a child living in Havana, Cuba in the 1950’s my parents purchased the two guache paintings below. The artist is unknown but the paintings express a certain folk art charm. There is an assured hand in these paintings, undoubtedly the artist painted many more. Though curiously black and white, they still project the essence of the rural Cuban countryside.
